Studio M were lead design consultant across three phases of work to upgrade the Piccadilly Theatre’s building services and facilities in preparation for the launch of Moulin Rouge! The Musical. The project involved the extensive replacement of rooftop plant, the creation of new dressing room facilities, auditorium restoration works, the installation of a platform lift to provide wheelchair access to the stalls level, new accessible WC facilities, the re-raking of the Grand Circle, and the re-seating of the auditorium. The works also included show-specific structural alterations to
the auditorium, together with the installation of technical access bridges serving the ceiling dome and fly gallery. Externally, the project encompassed a comprehensive façade renovation, featuring a new zinc-clad mansard roof and acoustic screen, upgraded façade lighting, new external signage and the construction of a new electrical sub-station within the get-in.
